Slightly frozen
We've been gone for a few days.
First sure thing is to go and check the minimum temperature of the last days in the vineyards.
Early May we still expect that frost at night might occur. Too much of it may damage the buds.
Sure enough frost did pass the plot of Les Crochettes.
Those of you who have visited us in Soulieres may remember it, since this is where we grow Chardonnay at the top of the plot and Pinots at the bottom due to the risk of frost at low height.
Luckily the frost stopped itself before minus 1 degree Celsius or more precisely at minus 0,9 which is too little to cause any damage.
Mid-may this risk will finish. Others will join in but that's another story. Another time.
